Accountemps is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with terrific organizational skills to take up a short-term temporary-to-full-time position at a growing company in the Non-Profit industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Responsibilities

– Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

– Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

– Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner

– Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

– Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

– Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

– Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

– Participate in various department-wide initiatives

– Maintain monthly payment schedules

– Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Job Requirements:
– Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

– Excellent attention to detail

– BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

– Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

– Recent and relevant accounting experience

– Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

– Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

– Skilled with ERP systems

– Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

– Navision experience

– Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel

– Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

– Spreadsheet and database capabilities

– Ability to meet deadlines
