Robert Half Finance is seeking candidates who have a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department, for a Controller position at a reputable Manufacturing company. Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role. Leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services will be essential for this role. What you get to do every day

– Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

– Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

– Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

– Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

– Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

– Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

– Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

– Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Job Requirements:
– Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

– Strong communication and social skills

– Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

– BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

– Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

– Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

– Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

– Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

– Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

– Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

– Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

– Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

– General familiarity with CPA

– Strong familiarity with US GAAP

– Foundational knowledge in Monthly Close Processes

– Adeptness in Monthly Close

– Annual Inventory experience

– Monthly Closings experience highly desired

– Knowledge of GAAP Accounting

– Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis
